Hello everyone,
First off, let me introduce myself. Iam new to the forum and the world of digital scrapbooking. I just recently got photoshop elements and everything is very new to me. I downloaded the quick fill cards and the swirl borders, but for the life of me cant get a picture inserted into the templates. i read the tutorial, and it is of no help. I am very computer illiterate and have never used layers. Please, Anyone if you can help walk me through this, that would be wonderful. :)
Thank you, Shannon

I guess the first question everyone always asks- Did you unzip the file? I personally like the free program Extract Now... but WinZip also works.

Hi, Shannon! I know the layers can be very frustrating when you're first getting started.
The first thing to do would be to open the layers palette so you can see what you're working with. You can do this by going to Windows>Layers. A box will open up that will show you all of the layers you're working with.
Next, open one of the Quick Fill Pages and you should see the template show up on your layers palette. Then, open up a photo and drag it on top of the template using the arrow tool (in the vertical tool bar on the left side of your screen). You should then see the photo layer in the layers window.
You can now click and drag the photo layer below the template layer in the layers palette. Once it is below, your photo will be below the template itself and you can drop, resize, etc by following the tutorial.
Please let me know if that helps you.

Heather,
Thank you for your input, but it doesnt seem to be working. I pull up the layers window, get the template I want to use and then pull up the picture. The picture goes directly over top of the template and when I try to move it, it says that it is locked. I then try to unlock it, and it wont let me. Im soooooooooooo confused. Im probably making a simple mistake, but like I said before im very new to all this and have never used layers. It does the same thing when I try to put a picture in the swirled borders. Any more help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all your time, Im sorry to inconvience you.

Glad I could help! Once you get through the tutorial once, it seems so easy! I have brain farts once in a while... but I just always go back to the tutorials. You can really do a lot with PSE..... and with the high quality of the designs on this site... you can't go wrong!
